Discover a new series of experiences led by Ballarat’s food and drink innovators.
From producers with a passion for earth’s best produce to brewers pouring liquid gold, there’s an undercurrent of creative souls in Ballarat foraging, growing and handcrafting some of the best regional produce you’ll ever taste.
With producers in the heart of Ballarat and so many rural havens just out of town, you don’t have to travel far for inspiring farm-to-table experiences.
From September 2022 to February 2023, Made of: Ballarat Experiences will take you behind-the-scenes with nine innovative producers in Ballarat and surrounds.
Taste, roast, dig and blend your way through a diverse series of small group experiences ranging from 1 – 3 hours.
Churn butter with Inglenook Dairy, forage and fish in the scenic surrounds of Tuki Trout Farm, or suit up to harvest honey fresh from the hive with Backyard Beekeeping Ballarat.
You can even hunt under the oaks for a unique variety of summer truffle, assisted by specially-trained dogs from Black Cat Truffles.
In the quaint village of Buninyong, Saltbush Kitchen will showcase the flavours of Australia exploring bushfood herbs and spices.
Plus, there’s a chance to learn and create with expert brewers, gin distillers and local winemakers, including Kilderkin Distillery, Aunty Jacks, Mrs Baker’s Still House and Eastern Peake Vineyard.
Many experiences in the spring-summer series are already open for bookings, with more events to be revealed once warmer days and spring harvests arrive.
